This past weekend,

Len and I  had the pleasure of visiting Connecticut & Massachusetts.   One of our favorite expereinces came from a hidden store in the middle of the woods called Sheepgate.  The store carries only hand made items that are one of a kind, such as scarves, jackets, and jewelery just to list a few items.  Maureen Costello, the proprietor was not present, but her generous husband encouraged us to take a slow look at all their hand selected items  even though the store had just closed.  After purchasing hand made goat soap and a sterling silver cat tooth fairy box for my mom, the owner asked us to meet their herd of sheep.  As it turns out the  store is located on their sheep farm.  Maureen hand dyes wool from fruits and vegetables and creates garments for the public. We met the gentle pillows in the back of the store, learned sheep eat with their lips and come when called by name.   It was touching to be introduced to such brilliant animals that offer their curls for humans.
